Baton Rouge Summer 2020 (Dates TBD)


Maps and Apps for Teachers ~ is a GIS summer professional development workshop led by a professional GIS instructor and/or a certified teacher along with qualified staff who have prepared an engaging curriculum complete with educational and technology-based sessions.  

Maps and Apps course will be at LSU’s Patrick F. Taylor Hall located at 3304 Patrick F. Taylor Hall, Baton Rouge, LA 70803. Maps and Apps sessions will begin each day at 8:00 am and end at 3:30 pm.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.

Participants will:

  • Experience flying a drone
  • Be provided with lesson plans and exercises aligned with state and national standards
  • Collect data outdoors using Collector for ArcGIS app
  • Map your own ideas using Story Maps
  • Cross Curricula with geospatial tools made simple, we promise
  • Find out about GIS Industry-Based Certification through JumpStart!
